Connections
Connections
As islands connect horizontally the water to water
Trees connect ground to sky in the vertical line.
The air is sandwiched between
To be squeezed
To be filled
To be connected to all.
As People extend their hands to connect heart to heart
Hearts connect upwards as they feel the connections to the heavens
Lives are sandwiched in-between
To be filled
To be squeezed
To be connected to all
Nature is the teacher that connects us to God's creations
Stars to roots, continent to continent, every thing sewn together
Universal connections sewn as a quilt
To keep us calm
To keep us joyful
To keep us grateful for all that is above
This is just beautiful. We ARE connected to the heavens, to God's creations, to all. Your poem is a strong one....and I thank you for linking to Poetry Jam and also to commenting on MY poem. Blessings to you.
ReplyDeletePoetry Jam is a nice thing. I really never planned to use the poetry part in my blog just the art part but I like doing this and love reading the poems here. I have written "poems" for years but never thought of publishing them before this...for good or bad I am giving it a try.
DeleteA beautiful quilt of connections from nature to people to our hearts...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this ~
The idea of writing on a subject as requested is new for me. I have just written poetry for me as I felt like writing so this is really a new concept but it is really fun!
DeleteYour poem for the Jam reveals a universal truth ... lovely writing.
ReplyDeleteThanks...Poetry is mot my main thing but I have written for years (since high school...many years lol) but this is the first place that I have ever posted anything and it is fun to get the writing out of the books that are just stacked on the shelf
Deletesmiles..you capture well the beauty of connection and how we humans really do connect to one another...there is something that happens when we touch...and i thik that in that there is def a little divinity...
ReplyDeleteDivinity is all over but it is very much there in the touch and human connections.
Delete"Nature is the teacher that connects us to God's creations." ..so true. We can really feel God's presence in Nature and get connected..
ReplyDelete...sewn as a quilt! Wonderful...
ReplyDeleteYep nature as a teacher Show your light like the sun, Stay in motion like the wind, Grow roots like the plants and Use your wings like the butterfly. Now I know why my parents took us camping and hiking when we were young. I did not know it then but it was summer school.
