Blind
We are all blind to the way others see the same thing we do.... but just in a different way.
Three people in the same place can recall the story of the day in very different ways !
Story Telling
Story unfolds
from
early dawn to dark at
dusk.
Who has ears
to
hear all the words
Who has eyes
to
see all the glory
Same story
but
two interpretations
of
the narration
Obvious and blurred
Facts and visions
Logic and heart thoughts
Same time Same place
but
Ears Eyes and Hearts
record
different
but
two true stories
reflect in this
It can be family members at the same gathering and leaving with very different feelings from the day or a group of bikers discussing if there was one or ten hills on the days ride, there will be different views of the same place in time. I also know that my mom does not see well but there are times she sees more with her ears then I do with my eyes.
Almost like a parallel uni"verse". :)
ReplyDeletesometimes it is just that. We can be blind to what other people see in the same situation.
DeleteSo very true that people often see different things in the same event. And yes, sometimes people can 'see' more with ears than with eyes. Thanks for jamming!
ReplyDeleteLOL My mom sees more then I see some tines and she can not see the E on the eye charts.
DeleteLovely Rae, and so true. Love the reflection photo! Hope your week is going great!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat week. I leave for the bike trip on Sunday so this time has just been to packed, because of packing and planning, to get to the fun typing here.
DeleteAlways two sides to everything...
ReplyDeleteAnd two-word verifications, I see? Maybe you could make our lives easier, and turn them off soon?
I will try to figure out how to do that
DeleteThis is very much like the expression: 'There are three truths, your truth, their truth and THE truth which sits right there in the middle.'
ReplyDeleteWe do all see the same thing totally differently. Nicely said. Came over to your from P Jam.
I love the photo that you have for your poem. Is it your photo or do you know who took it?
Deleteit is all about perspective...and also using all our senses and not just our own eyes...seeing the perspective of another truly is a gift....and it takes time...
ReplyDeletePerspective....Probably as far as painting goes it is best to know the rules so that you can break them....smile
DeleteSo true, everyone does have their own take on events, I think because we all filter things through our own experiences and perceptions of the world. Very nicely done :) Thanks so much for linking this up at Poetry Jam!
ReplyDeleteI will be biking for a week and I do know that the definition of Hill changes as the day goes on. LOL Folks come to Illinois from Colorado and think the ride will be flat. What they learn is that Illinois is not flat at all!
DeleteTruth in your poem ... reminds me of a few months ago when I served jury duty .. it wasn't a complicated case for twelve people to come up with a verdict on, but we all seemed to hear and see witnesses' statements and testimony in different ways.
ReplyDeleteLife seems to be like that at all times. Adds to the fun.
DeleteTrue and intriguing at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI love this, especially your lines at the end about how your mom sees more with her ears than you do with your eyes........such wisdom. Lovely writing.
